A driver has been taken to hospital with serious injuries this morning following a crash on the Norfolk-Suffolk border.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash, which happened on the A134 at Lynford, near Thetford, and closed the road for several hours.
The driver of a Fiat car suffered chest, leg and facial injuries after his vehicle left the road and collided with a tree. He was driving from the Thetford direction at the time of the collision.
Firefighters from Methwold and Brandon fire stations attended just after 4.30am and used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the casualty from the vehicle.
The injured man has been taken to the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 4.26am with an ambulance and paramedic officer in attendance. One casualty was conveyed to the West Suffolk Hospital, they were initially trapped but their injuries aren’t thought to be life threatening.”
The A134 was closed in both directions, but has since reopened.
