A project to revamp a garden at a sheltered housing scheme in Attleborough has been completed.
Residents at Wayland Court tested out their new garden space this week, which was funded by Flagship’s Community Initiative Fund.
Supported by community managers Donna Norton and John Whitehurst, residents put an application together to apply for £2,800 of funding to create a space that everyone at the Flagship-run complex could enjoy.
The newly designed courtyard boasts garden plots where vegetables, herbs and plants can grow. Wooden furniture has also been installed so that residents can spend time with their friends and family.
Resident Megan Booth said: “It is a nice area now. It will be good to have a place where you are not on view and have a coffee outside with the family.”
Flagship’s Community Initiative Fund, sponsored by contractors Vinci and Aaron Services Ltd, supports community projects across East Anglia. To qualify for funding, the project must include a clear community, society-based or environmental benefit and must benefit Flagship customers as well as the community.
