Prince Philip is expected to attend the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee garden party at Sandringham on Tuesday following his release from hospital.
The Duke had been recovering from a bladder infection, but is at home in Windsor today (Saturday) ready to celebrate his 91st birthday tomorrow.
He left King Edward VII Hospital in central London this morning after spending five nights under the care of staff.
It is hoped the prince will now be well enough to travel to Sandringham and attend the garden party.
Tuesday’s event is being held to thank those living in Norfolk and Suffolk who have contributed to the life and welfare of their communities.
Some 4,000 guests have been invited and the food will be prepared by catering students from the College of West Anglia in King’s Lynn, Norwich City College and Great Yarmouth College.
See Monday’s paper for a full story about the party.
