A popular Norfolk airshow which attracts thousands of visitors every year and raises money for charity will return to Old Buckenham Airfield again this summer.
The Old Buckenham Airshow will be held at the airfield, in Abbey Road, on July 26 and 27.
Spread over two days, the show will contain a variety of aviation activities, displays and other entertainment.
On Saturday, members of the public can take to the skies in a state-of-the-art executive helicopter or a Second World War Boeing Steaarman Biplane.
For those who prefer to let the professionals do the flying, a one-hour air display by the Wildcat Aerobatics will showcase the best of modern aerobatics aircraft.
The highlight of Saturday will be the popular Hangar Dance in the evening, which will return to the airfield’s 1940s Blister Hangar.
Visitors can also enjoy the focus on quality food, with barbecues, handmade pizzas from a wood-fired oven, gourmet duck, vintage ice cream and traditional fish and chips on the menu.
Sunday will include two hours of the best aviation, including a Spitfire MH434, which makes its third return to the show.
After a successful military career and a stint in the Royal Dutch Airforce, the aircraft experienced an equally successful film and TV career, appearing in films and TV shows including Poirot, A Bridge Too Far and The Longest Day.
Renowned aviator Brendan O’Brien will also make an appearance at the show, attempting to make a record for the shortest truck top landing, a feat he narrowly missed out on in 2013.
Mr O’Brien, who has more than 200 FAI aviation world records, will wow the crowds with his Flying Circus.
Attractions on the ground will include a military encampment with living history displays and demonstrations, live bands, a funfair and an array of classic cars.
Matt Wilkins, airshow organiser and manager of Old Buckenham Airfield, said: “2013 was a huge success and we’re hoping to build on that in 2014.
“We’re working on creating the greatest airshow yet and building on our reputation as holding the Norfolk Airshow.”
Tickets for Saturday are £10, £15 for Sunday and £20 for all weekend. Tickets for Saturday night’s dance are £10.
