The eagerly-awaited return to the Waveney Valley of a popular tradition has been put on hold – because of the weather.
Teams from Beccles and Bungay were gearing up to battle it out in the ancient East Anglian art of dwile flonking at the Locks Inn in Geldeston tomorrow (Sunday).
But organisers have been forced to postpone the return of this popular rural contest to the pub on the banks of the River Waveney, because of the poor weather forecast.
Apologising for the cancellation, organiser Yanny Mac said: “The event has been postponed due to the weather forecast.”
It is hoped that the dwile flonking fun can return to the Locks Inn in Geldeston on either May 18 or June 8.
