Four learner drivers in Norfolk and Suffolk took 20 or more attempts to successfully pass their practical driving test.
One woman, aged between 41 and 50, passed on her 26th attempt at the test centre in Bury St Edmunds.
In King’s Lynn the most attempts to successfully pass were by a man over the age of 51, who took 20 tries.
At Lowestoft’s driving test centre a male driver aged between 41 and 50 passed on his 22nd attempt, while a women the same age passed on her 21st try in Ipswich.

In Norwich a man aged between 21 and 30 passed on his 19th attempt.
The figures, released by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, account for the period from April 1, 2004, until September 30, 2013.
A practical test costs £62, which would mean the drivers have forked out more than £1,000 on attempting to pass their test.
However, if using a driving school they would also have had to book a car for the duration of the test, which would mean they could have spent hundreds more.
Alan Brazewell, owner and director of Thorpe St Andrew-based Chilled Driving Tuition, said: “We have a good first-time pass rate at the school of just over 75pc.
“Of the remaining 25pc, probably another 75pc of those pass second time and the worst case scenario we have seen has got to four.
“It doesn’t surprise me because you do hear stories of people who do take a long time to pass.
“It becomes harder as you get older, like everything in life.
“It does come down to nerves on the day because no matter how well prepared you are there are always going to be those nerves there.
“A lot of people have pressure put on them from third parties, for example pressure from families and work and sometimes that doesn’t help.”
Mr Brazewell said they had found that preparing learner drivers by arranging a “mock” driving test with a different instructor had helped to raise their pass rate.
