Police seek woman between 60 and 70 years old after mobility scooter hits people in Thetford

Police are appealing for information after a number of people were hit by a mobility scooter in Thetford.

The incident happened at about 11.30am on Christmas Eve in the Grove Lane/ Norwich Road area.

The scooter rider was described as female with short white hair, between 60 and 70 years old, wearing a fawn-coloured overcoat and riding a red mobility scooter with a basket on the front.

Anyone with any information should contact PC Jon Turner-Evans at Thetford Police Station on the non-emergency number, 101.

  • All the people I know with mobility buggy's do pay road tax,.there is training available but cant comment on insurance.

  • how do they pay road tax for a mobility scooter? it may have a tax disc but if you look closely it says zero it was just a new way of keeping a track on the many scooters being bought but like all the governments bright ideas it was after several years of these machines being sold. so how could they charge road tax on new ones but not old ones it would just push people to buy older models without tax on

  • ther r a few out ther who think they own the pavement and walk ways and just head towards you and don't give a dam its not like they r slow scooters I think every one who has one should do training and ther should be insurance and tax with out a doubt if they plough into you your going to get hurt .
