Detectives investigating an attack in Great Yarmouth that left a man in critical condition are appealing for help to find a missing laptop.
The computer was being used to play music at a party in a house in Albion Road on Saturday night.
But when emergency services arrived at the property on Sunday morning, where they found two men injured inside, the dark coloured Toshiba laptop was missing.
The two men had suffered head injuries. A 55-year-old man was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with serious head injuries, where he remains in a critical condition.
The second man, aged 62, suffered cuts to his head but was not taken to hospital.
Officers have since arrested a 26-year-old man from Great Yarmouth on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, who remains in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Durham from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team said: “There was a party at the property on Saturday, February 1 where the laptop was being used to play music.
“We believe the two men were assaulted at around 7pm on Saturday evening, but when emergency services were called to the address the following day to treat the men the laptop was missing.
“The laptop is described as a Toshiba make, possibly dark in colour, and has a crab as its screensaver. I want to speak to anyone who may have been offered this laptop for sale, or has any information on its current whereabouts.”
He added: “The assault appears to be an isolated incident and all parties are known to one another.”
The property remains sealed off as police continue their enquiries.
