Six men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault outside a Norwich taxi office over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Four men, two aged 19 and two aged 21, were arrested yesterday on suspicion of affray.

They were questioned by officers at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and released on bail until July.

The arrests come after an altercation at the offices of Loyal Taxis and outside in Rose Lane at about 4.30am on Monday.

A man suffered serious head injuries in the incident which involved several people.

The victim, who is from the local area, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital but then transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Two other men have also been arrested in connection with the incident.

A man in his late teens was released without any further action and a man in his 20s was later released on bail until the beginning of June.
