Police appeal for witnesses after pensioner seriously hurt in collision with moped at Starston near Harleston

A 79-year-old female pedestrian suffered serious leg injuries in a collision with a Peugeot moped at Starston near Harleston.

She was taken by ambulance to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital after the accident which happened on the Rushall Road at about 7pm tonight.

The road was closed for two and a half hours while accident investigators worked at the scene.

The moped rider is not believed to have been hurt.

Sgt Simon Atherton, in the Norfolk Constabulary control room, said: “It is a rural area but we are keen to hear from any witnesses there may have been.

“Anyone who can help should contact the serious collision investigation team at headquarters on the 101 number.”
