Officers were contacted around 8am this morning following the collision that happened about 30 minutes earlier.

The vehicle is thought to have come from the Borrow Road direction, struck the dog and then roared off towards the end of the road.

It is believed to have been driven by a young male with no passengers in the car, and the vehicle will have sustained some front-end damage as glass from a headlight was found in the road.

Police are asking the driver, or anyone with information about who he is, to call PC Gary Brown at Lowestoft on 101.
