Police confirm body found in Costessey was missing Norwich man Alan Milburn

Police have identified a man who was found dead in Norwich last month as missing person Alan Milburn.

Officers were called to an area of land off Norwich Road in Costessey on Wednesday, December 28 after the body of a man was found in undergrowth.

Following specialist forensic tests required to identify the deceased officers have been able to confirm the man as 69-year-old Alan Milburn who was last seen at his home address in Armes Street in Norwich on Monday, November 14.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner ahead of an inquest which will take place in due course.
