There was a patriotic atmosphere at Brundall Primary School last Friday, as the school’s pupils got into the spirit of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Funds were raised for the Friends of Brundall School through sponsored walks around the school field, with a royal theme.

Helen Campbell, from Friends of Brundall School, said: “It went really well. We had the whole school, which is 240 children, doing laps of the school field dressed in red, white and blue.

“We also held a competition for the best hat and the best card, and we will send the winning card to the Queen.”

While the children put in the hard work, completing laps of the school field for the entire hour between 2pm and 3pm, parents and teachers enjoyed some scones and tea from the ‘royal promenade’.

Mrs Campbell added: “We had the school saxophone band playing God Save the Queen and various other patriotic songs.

“So it was kind of a culmination of a whole week of doing jubilee things, with the children learning about the royal family and having royal parties throughout the week.”
