Shoppers stopped and listened as the 40 pupils from Cookes Keyboard School took it in turns to play a variety of music on keyboards in the Mall Norwich.

Located outside the Argos store, the students played for eight hours, performing music ranging from Chopin to The Beatles, Coldplay to Andrew Lloyd-Webber.

All funds raised on the day and through sponsorship will be donated to the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).

Teresa Bell, a teacher at the school which is based at Cookes Pianos in St Benedicts Street, said: “You never know when you or someone you know may need the air ambulance. It had to be called for one of my friends and it brought home just what a good job they do.” photo: simon finlay
