Police said today that the consequences of a crash in Sculthorpe yesterday could have been much worse if the passengers had not been wearing seatbelts.
A witness appeal was launched after the serious crash on the B1355 at Sculthorpe, near Fakenham, which resulted in eight people being taken to hospital.
Norfolk police said on Twitter this morning: “Consequences could have been far worse without belts. Luckily no serious injuries at B1355 RTC - all eight victims released from hospital. All wearing seatbelts.”
Emergency services were called to the scene just after 3.30pm following reports of a “serious collision”.
A fire crew from Fakenham also attended and assisted ambulance and police in helping make the scene safe.
Anyone with information about the crash should call police on 101.
