Youngsters were able to get up close and personal with worms, tortoises and a Hollywood screenwriter when a Norwich school held an environment day.
The Open Academy, in Salhouse Road, held its third annual environment day yesterday.
Author and screenwriter William Osborne, whose screenplays include Goldeneye and The Scorpion King, opened the event.
He is keen to work with students to help celebrate creative writing and improve literacy, so was happy to get the event open.
Among organisations at the event were the Norfolk Tortoise Club, Master Composters and Hidden Treasures.
Liz Cassedy, assistant head of the science faculty, said: “The academy prides itself in being committed to developing a sustainable future and understands the importance in embedding this into its students.”
