Snow fell heavily in Beccles this lunchtime as the seasonal weather caught up with Waveney..
The region appeared to have escaped the heaviest of the snowfall overnight, but from 1pm large flakes started to fall and settle in the town.
There were even reports of thunder just before the snow started.
The A146 was slow moving between Hales and Norwich as commuters lined the road on their way into the city, and at 2.30pm there were reports of it taking drivers 50 minutes to drive from Hales to Yelverton.
While much of the region experienced snowfall overnight, families in Waveney woke up to a light dusting.
All schools in Suffolk were open as usual this morning, while schools in the Loddon area were also open.
The A146 was slow moving between Hales and Norwich as commuters lined the road on their way into the city, but between Hales and Lowestoft the road was mostly clear.
Very light snow had fallen in Lowestoft from about 8pm until 10pm last night, but it had almost all gone this morning. Although it has yet to see snow today, Southwold has experienced a slight sprinkling.
Across Beccles, Bungay and Halesworth the snow started falling around 5pm but by 6pm it had turned to sleet. This morning there was a light covering but little disruption.
