With their high-flying tricks on the trapeze and the silks, two young Norwich performers are hoping to wow the judges this weekend.

Sixteen-year-old Natasha Rushbrooke and 17-year-old Alisha Page are set to compete in the Lincolnshire Aerial Performers Championships which are taking place at Mablethorpe on Saturday.

Both performers are members of the Chermond School of Gymnastics, based at Delta Close in Norwich, and director of coaching Cherie Alcock said she had high hopes for the young stars.

“I am very proud of them. They work exceedingly hard – they have to in order to be at the standard they are,” said Mrs Alcock.

“It’s all about performance. They are very talented and they are good at the “tricks” that they do, and on the day it is all about performance and confidence.”

Natasha, who will be competing in the amateur static trapeze category, said: “I think it will be a great chance to meet other aerialists and to see what I can do. It’s a good start getting ourselves out there in competitions. I would like to be a professional aerialist performer in the future.”

Alisha, who will be competing in the amateur silks category, said: “I am really excited because it is such a big opportunity to take part in the championships.”

Lucinder Young, a former member of the Chermond School of Gymnastics, will also being competing in the professional silks category of the Lincolnshire Aerial Performers Championships on Saturday.
