Thousands of revellers have started arriving at the Sundown festival ahead of the two-day event where some of the music industry’s biggest chart acts will be appearing.

Up to 30,000 people are expected to visit the festival at the Norfolk Showground, near Norwich, with around 6,000 camping over the weekend from tonight.

Crime prevention leaflets have been handed out to campers arriving on site and revellers are being urged to make sure they keep their personal belongings safe.

Festival-goers are also being reminded to be sensible when it comes to drinking alcohol and warned about the dangers of taking illegal substances and ‘legal highs’.

  • Greentruth! You have no idea what goes on behind the scenes when it comes to stopping drug use! security staff eject people from the event when the are caught taking substances and are not allowed back into the event as the wristbands are taken so please, get your facts straight before making stupid comments!!!

  • Greentruth you may have noticed less illegal raves in your back garden - its better to have official policed gigs like this at commercial show grounds than a return to the 90's when every other weekend a village ahd a massive clear up or local beauty spot was ruined with drug left overs

  • I notice there was no objection locals over this, 30,000 people, with 6000 camping overnight, yet they object to speedway, which would only have about 1000 attending and lasting about 2 hours

  • Let's have a proper edp investigation into drug use , legal highs and underage drinking at this years Sundown. Oh but hang on a minute , lots of organisations are going to make a fortune out of this weeks events , so we won't condemn the behaviour like we would if it was an illegal rave, we'll just ignore it and count the cash. Double standards????
