Three fire engines from Yarmouth were called to King Street at 3.42am after the St Elizabeth Hospice shop caught alight.

At 3.57am the fire service reported that the shop was “well alight” and were concerned that there may have been people inside.

By 4.10am all people nearby were accounted for and the fire had been extinguished, with a stop message submitted to fire control at 4.27am.

Breathing apparatus and hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire and a positive pressure ventilation fan was also used.
