The production brings the classic fairy tale into the 21st century creating a Gothic romance with vampires and fairies, using a range of dance styles, puppets and masks.

Students went to see the show, which included a question session with Mr Bourne afterwards. At the three hour workshop the following day, with company members Neil Westmoreland and Maddy Brennan, 30 AS level performance students were able to produce their own original choreography.

Teacher of performance studies Mandy McKenna said: “I was amazed by the speed at which the students made such skilled original work. The workshop was an over-riding success; an inspiration to students and staff.”
