A group of pupils and staff from a south Norfolk special school visited the Olympic Park to watch events at the Paralympics last week.

The pupils from Chapel Road School in Attleborough, who all have severe learning difficulties, mastered a range of challenges, including travelling by underground, coping with large crowds and noise, walking long distances, staying overnight in a hotel and eating new and different foods.

They went to events on September 6 and 7, thanks to Alex Brake, who organised a charity car rally that raised over £4,000 to support the school with residential activities, including this visit to London 2012.

The group felt enthused and inspired by the athletes and extremely impressed by all the games makers and officials who couldn’t do enough to help and support the group while they were in the Olympic Park.

They came back excited about the achievements of the athletes and proud of what they had achieved themselves.
