Traffic problems have now cleared on the A140 in south Norfolk, after an overturned car at Newton Flotman had earlier closed the road for almost two hours.
The A140 was blocked near to the junction at Church Road, in the north of the village, from around 5.15pm and was not fully clear again until shortly after 7.30pm.
Police officers started operating a contraflow system at around 7pm to allow traffic to start moving.
A post from the @NorfolkPolice Twitter account at 5.20pm said: “Road blocked at present, please avoid completely.”
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from Long Stratton, Earlham and Sprowston to the scene, but were not required to cut anyone free from the vehicle and ensured the scene was safe.
Reports on social media said the crash was causing problems as far back as the junction with the A47 at the Harford Bridges roundabout.
Ian Nieuwoudt (@ianjannieuwoudt) tweeted: “Again avoid the A140! Road traffic collision near Newton Flotman, traffic queueing as far as Dunston Hall now.”
