Shoppers at Norwich’s Castle Mall shopping centre helped to raise more than £6,000 for Norfolk charities over the Christmas period.
A percentage of the ticket price from the Castle Mall Santa’s Grotto and Christmas gift wrapping service raised the money for bereaved children’s charity Nelson’s Journey.
Vicky Merrison, marketing manager at Castle Mall, said: “Our wonderful shoppers really did make this Christmas a season of goodwill, raising a significant amount of money for a local charity which does some amazing work, supporting bereaved young people.
“I would like to particularly thank our volunteers who gave up their time and worked very hard at our gift wrap, as well as those who donated to use the service.”
Carol Plunkett, funding and marketing officer at Nelson’s Journey, added: “Nelson’s Journey is really pleased with how much was raised during the festive period and would like to thank all those who used the service and donated so generously.”
The mall’s gift appeal also supported Umbrella Housing Association and Leeway Women’s Aid.
