A higher-than-normal number of trains being in for repair has led to a shortage of seats on the Sheringham to Norwich train line.

Hundreds of passengers, many of whom had been in Cromer for the BBC's Antiques Roadshow filming on Cromer Pier, faced difficulty getting back to the city this afternoon (Thursday).

The 4.49pm Greater Anglia service from Sheringham was operating with just one carriage.

Greater Anglia apologised for the inconvenience on Twitter, saying: 'This is due to more trains than usual in for repairs at the same time'.

A spokesman said additionally, some trains were cautioned earlier this morning due to a signal failure near Salhouse but otherwise have a full timetabled service has operated.
