A weekend on a luxury motor yacht with crew in Majorca for eleven people is one of the star lots of offer in the charity auction at the Norfolk Show Ball this month.

Guests will have the chance to bid for an exclusive array of items, including holidays both abroad and in the UK at this popular black tie event.

Taking place in the Presidents Marquee at the showground on June 20, the charity auction at the Norfolk Show Ball will also offer unique once-in-a lifetime experiences.

Bid for tickets to a Nigel Havers play in London’s West End, followed by drinks with the actor in his dressing room, or a VIP package to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo or an action-packed day with Norfolk Police and Fire Service.

Holidays up for grabs include a week on a bare boat yacht based in Antigua for four people, a cottage in Devon for a week and a week in a Holiday Property Bond house.

One of the more unusual lots is a mole-catching course - one for the keen gardener who despairs at the site of fresh mounds of earth appearing in their lawn.

There are a total of 50 lots up for auction, including original paintings, golfing packages, a barge trip from Greenwich to Chelsea with lunch for four people and the chance for three people to go on a 45-minute flight in Rockwell Commander aeroplane.

The evening is supporting Veterans Norfolk, which helps Armed Forces veterans of all ages across the county.

All the proceeds on the night will go to this cause.

There are just a few tickets left for the event, which cost £75 each, and tables can be booked for eight, ten or 12 places by emailing bookings@softleyevents.co.uk or calling 01603 757658.

See tomorrow’s Eastern Daily Press for a preview of this year’s Royal Norfolk Show.
