Lady Dannatt visited Oakwood House, in Colney, today and cut the ribbon to officially launch the new-look home.

Pupils from Norwich School provided musical entertainment.

Stephanie Richardson, manager of the 48-bed Bupa care home, said: “It was a really successful afternoon. We were privileged to have Lady Dannatt here to relaunch the home, and all our residents and their friends and relatives enjoyed themselves.”

Mrs Richardson said the revamp included redecorating the rooms, creating en-suite wet rooms, and putting in new carpets, curtains and furniture. Work on the project began last March and was completed by November.

At today’s event, Lady Dannatt was presented with a donation for the charity Help for Heroes, of which her husband, General Lord Dannatt, is president and a founder patron. A raffle also raised extra funds for the charity.
