Norwich Theatre Royal has entertained countless audiences with comedy, drama, pantomimes and more over the decades, and now it needs your vote in its quest to win a national award.
The city venue is bringing the curtain up on a bid to win the My Theatre Matters! Most Welcoming Theatre Award that seeks to reward the UK theatre that makes its audiences feel most at home. More than 200 theatres are taking part in the competition, and the theatre which receives the most votes in relation to its size will be crowned the winner. Norwich Theatre Royal previously won in 2004 and is hoping to repeat this success.
Jane Claridge, Norwich Theatre Royal’s general manager, said: “With over 12,000 friends of the Theatre Royal and a number of partnerships spread across Norfolk for people of all ages and backgrounds, we are a theatre based at the heart of the community. This is your opportunity to celebrate your good experiences at Norwich Theatre Royal. So whether you’ve enjoyed a show, eaten at our restaurant, been involved with one of our community projects or just had a friendly word with one of our members of staff, we’d love you to support us by giving us your vote.”
Voting is open now for the contest, run in association with Classic FM, and closes on September 30. The winner will be announced in October at the UK Theatre Awards.
