Is this what Norwich would look like in the event of a zombie attack? You can help formulate a plan to deal with such an outbreak at the next Norwich Science Cafe meeting.

The audience at a regular science cafe in Norwich will be asked to help formulate a plan for disaster management in the event of a zombie outbreak.

The fun, Halloween inspired Norwich Science Cafe event, which is free, will start at 7.30pm on November 14 at The Maddermarket Theatre bar.

Dr Tristan Bunn, the BBSRC inspiring young scientists co-ordinator, STEM ambassador and an expert in scientific solutions to threats from contagions and creatures, will be setting out a fictional scenario in which individuals have starting exhibiting zombie-like behaviour and symptoms and he will explain how to identify a zombie.

The briefing will then be followed by a disaster management discussion, with crucial decisions to be made on the spread of the infection, based on the latest epidemiological tools, neuroscience and counter measure technologies. The evening will end with zombie apocalypse survival essentials to help people deal with the infected and the collapse of civilisation.

Fancy dress is encouraged but all zombies must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
