Snow White and the Seven Dwarves belong in a fairyland with the wicked witch and magic mirrors.
But 10 employees from Plumbing Trade Supplies (PTS) in Norwich brought the story to the city as they dressed as Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, to walk round the ring-road, raising £2,000 for cancer causes.
The half-marathon walk, in aid of Cencer research UK, started at the PTS Concorde Road branch, carrying on to the Norwich South branch at White Lodge trading estate.
The route then went on to the Roundtree Way branch with a stop-over at the Fat Cat and Canary for a beer, stopping off at other company branches on the way with raffle events and breakfast mornings at each.
Karl Nicholson, of Veissmann Boilers, took the role of Snow White with others dressed as the dwarves.
Ray Capps, 58, from Trimingham, the PTS area director for East Anglia, played Grumpy, Gavin Spurdens dressed as Happy, Adam Jarrett as Sleepy, Gwen Maher as Sneezy, Katy Monk as Doc, Bradley Elvin as Dopey, Mark Wickham as Bashful, Simon Eastwell as Champion the Wonder Horse, and Barry Ellis as himself.
Mark Wickham, the assistant manager of the Concorde Road branch, put the idea forward initially after his father was diagnosed with cancer.
Mr Capps said the public reaction to their party was a huge surprise, “children were running out of their houses mesmerised, and we lost count of the beeps from cars”.
Mr Capps said: “Everyone in the group knows someone with cancer and so it was great to do something for this worthwhile charity.”
Building on their success, the group is keen to do a similar event in the future in Norwich with characters from Toy Story or Shrek.
