A freelance graphic designer for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices is in training to swim the English Channel in aid of the charity.
Zara Bullen, 35, from Norwich’s Golden Triangle, completed a Channel relay swim last week with four swimmers from London.
The window for her swim is September 29/30 and is dependent upon weather and traffic.
She said: “I’m now into the final stages of the training and so swimming a couple of long extended swims per week with small ‘ticking over’ sets in between.
“It’s feeling very imminent now and I am swaying between feeling enormously excited and a little bit apprehensive.
“I’d really like to raise at least £5,300 as this is what it costs to run my local hospice for just one day – it feels a tangible amount for my day of swimming but also makes me realise just how much support they need.” To sponsor Zara visit: http://www.justgiving.com/ZaraBullen
