Animal care assistant Katie Surman, of RSPCA Norwich and Mid-Norfolk, will be jumping 160 feet on 30th September to raise money for the RSPCA and Pancreatric Cancer UK.

An animal care assistant at a Norwich centre will be taking the leap from London’s Tower Bridge in aid of two charities.

Katie Surman, who works at the RSPCA Norwich and Mid-Norfolk’s Paws Centre in Barrack Street, will be jumping 160 feet on September 30 by completing a Tower Bridge bungee jump to raise money for the independent RSPCA branch and for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

She said: “I have always wanted to do a bungee jump and this jump is actually a birthday present. I thought it would be a great idea to try and raise funds for charity as well.” Because the jump is bought and paid for, this means that every penny she raises will go to the two charities chosen.

Miss Surman said: “I chose the RSPCA as I see animals in need every day, and I know how much the branch needs to keep on helping the hundreds of animals it does each year.”

She is also supporting Pancreatric Cancer UK as sadly, a close family member is fighting the disease.
