Thick fog has forced the diversion of flights into Norwich Airport this evening.
The Eastern Airways flight from Aberdeen, due to land at 8.50pm, has been diverted to East Midlands Airport, while the Flybe flight from Manchester and the KLM arrival from Amsterdam have been turned around and sent back.
The first flight to Manchester tomorrow morning has already been cancelled, and the first for Amsterdam is expected to be delayed.
Andrew Bell, chief executive of Norwich Airport, said that passengers on the Aberdeen and Manchester flights would be transported to Norwich by bus this evening, but the Amsterdam passengers would face an overnight stay.
He said: “There will be no more flying for tonight. That will cause a knock-on impact in the morning.
“However, we are asking people to turn up as normal for their flights, so that connections can be rebooked.”
