A Norwich University of the Arts student has been selected from entrants from universities across the country to dress TV star Alesha Dixon on the red carpet.
Year Two BA Fashion student Yan Ting Kwok was named the winner of the Graduate Fashion Week Little Black Dress competition for her couture designs for the Britain's Got Talent judge.
Miss Dixon, alongside the CEO of Little Black Dress, Mark Evans and Hello Fashion Monthly's editor-at-large, Hilary Alexander OBE, selected the winner and the former Mis-teeq singer announced the result live at the Graduate Fashion Week Gala event.
She will wear Miss Ting Kwok's dress at a high profile red carpet or TV event.
Miss Dixon said, 'We were blown away by the standard of entries to the competition and we made our final selection [of Yan's dress] based on the outstanding level of flair, skill and commitment shown.'
The brief was to encapsulate Miss Dixon's style in a high fashion. Entrants were asked to showcase their skills by showing the creative process, technical specifications, pattern cutting, prototyping and a marketing plan around their finished product.
Miss Ting Kwok said: 'It was a dream come true and hearing my name announced by Alesha Dixon as the winner was truly amazing. I can't wait to see Alesha wearing the dress on the red carpet.'
Graduate Fashion Week celebrates the creativity of the best students and graduates within fashion from around the world, and features 22 catwalk shows from over 40 universities, attracting in excess of 30,000 guests.
Sue Chowles, course leader for BA Fashion at NUA, added: 'The Little Black Dress Competition brief was to encapsulate Alesha's personal style in a truly couture creation and Yan's dress does this perfectly.
'She presented a flawless entry, detailing the creative process behind her designs and showcasing her technical skills at pattern cutting and prototying. The finished product, which she made with the team at Little Black Dress is beautiful. We are incredibly proud.'
