Super striker Morison and club captain Holt will be joined by sporting friends for the event on Saturday after their Premiership game against Newcastle United at home.

The evening will help raise funds for the Retired Greyhound Trust and all 13 races on the night have been sponsored by fellow Canaries players.

Morison grew up in Enfield, London and first got a taste for greyhound racing through regularly attending meetings at Walthamstow Stadium. Having moved to Norwich City from Millwall in June 2011, he has stepped up his greyhound ambitions by starting a race club with Holt.

The Steve Morison and Grant Holt Race Club currently has seven greyhounds in training and is now open to all members of the public. Prize money won is reinvested in the club to buy more dogs.

Morison said: 'I've only recently had the chance to become a greyhound owner as I wanted to do it right. One thing led to another and now Grant and I have five racing regularly and a couple of pups that we have high hopes for. We could have gone at it alone but wanted to share the experience by setting up a club.

'There's nothing quite like the adrenaline surge you get when watching your own canine athlete compete. Come along on Saturday to see for yourself, even if you don't join the club I'll bet you enjoy a great night out.'

A raffle will be held on the evening to raise funds for the Retired Greyhound Trust, which works to find loving homes for the dogs once their racing careers have finished.

? Doors open at Yarmouth Stadium on Saturday at 6.30pm (first race 7.30pm, last race 10.30pm). Visit www.yarmouthstadium.co.uk for more information.
