A charity shop in Norwich is celebrating 25 years in the city.

The British Heart Foundation set up shop in London Street a quarter of a century ago and to mark the occasion, staff and volunteers held a celebratory lunch.

The date also marked 25 years of volunteering from John Palmer, who has served the shop since it opened in 1993.

To mark his achievement, Mr Palmer was presented with an award by manager Heather Doe and assistants, Sharon Hall and Laverne Engledow.

Mr Palmer won the charity's national volunteer of the year award in 2011, which he was presented with by Samantha Cameron at 10 Downing Street.

Ms Doe said: 'He is an amazing man, well loved by everyone in the British Heart Foundation and is laughingly known as Sir John.'
