Norwich South Safer Neighbourhood Team said that despite stories circulating on social media regarding alleged poisoning of dogs and fish, “no actual incidents have been reported to the police”.

People had claimed that dogs had been poisoned by pellets left in the Norwich park and that razor blades had also been found.

Superintendent Dave Marshall, Norwich policing commander, said today: “There are a number of rumours currently circulating about poisoning, especially on social media channels, which we’ve looked into because of the level of concern.

“We would strongly urge anyone who believes their pet has been poisoned to contact police so that we can properly investigate.”

Anyone with any information should contact Norwich South SNT on 101.
