Broadland District Council expects to spend £243,100 on improving its Thorpe Lodge base, in Thorpe St Andrew, throughout 2011/12.

This includes a replacement boiler and installing a solar panel system. But the authority also wants to improve its customer toilets near reception and the ladies and gents toilets on the first floor. Another toilet will be adapted to allow disabled people to use it.

A spokesman said: “The wear and tear on them means the floors are damaged and some of the pipework leaks. The expenditure is not yet approved, but is expected to cost circa £36k and would include new chinaware and new cubicles in the first floor ladies and gents.”
