The family of a well known hairdresser have paid tribute to a man who inspired talented young stylists, and worked tirelessly to restore client's confidence having lost their hair.
Chris Chapman was born and bred in Drayton, Norwich, and was best known for travelling with the Men's World Cup team for five years.
Mr Chapman began his own business in Norwich aged 18, and worked regularly with the Norwich City Football team.
One of the first apprentices Mr Chapman took on, Joe McCarthy said: 'He was the go to man in Norwich in the 70's would have had 40 to 50 people queuing outside his shop to get a hair cut.'
Mr Chapman's pursuit of perfection quickly lead him to fame in the industry, as he entered regional and national competitions.
In 1999, Mr Chapman moved his business to Brooke to specialise in men's hair pieces and women's wigs, helping many women undergoing chemotherapy and suffering with alopecia.
Emma Chapman, 29, described her father as: 'My best friend, rock, and hero. We shared a special bond that only we knew, and is irreplaceable. Dad brought me up to always reach and achieve my goals however big or small, and he supported and guided me through them. He would never let me down. I always knew he had my back and that I could rely on him 100%. What more could you want from a Dad?'
Her brother, Danny Chapman 32, said: 'Dad pushed me to be the best I could be. He believed in me and my ability with football until I was 19, and golf when I turned professional at 21. I loved him coming to watch me play, he always wanted to help in the football teams I played in and every Sunday it was a family outing to watch me play.'
Mr Chapman was described as the 'proudest Poppa' to grandchildren Luca and Olivia.
The hairdresser died aged 68 of cancer, the illness that he helped and supported so many others battle.
Family and friends would like to thank the staff on the Mulbarton Ward at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for their help and support over the past few weeks.
Mr Chapman's funeral will be held at 2.30pm on July 9 at Norwich Cathedral.
