M&S Simply Food at Sweet Briar Retail Park, is the first of its kind in Norfolk, and opened its doors today.

A traditional ribbon cutting took place at 10am to mark the occasion with store manager, Simon Rossiter, and more than 100 new members of M&S staff.

Following the opening, shoppers were invited inside.

Mr Rossiter, said: “I’m looking forward to welcoming people from Norwich and the surrounding area to come and see all the exciting products in-store.”

Jude Orange and her grandson Freddie Hunter were the first customers through the doors.

She said: “I am delighted that the new M&S Simply Food store is open.

“The location is ideal.”

The store also offers Shop Your Way - allowing customers to order either online or in-store from the full product range.

Free parking is available to customers to the food store.

  • Deary me, people who can't afford to shop at Waitrose & M&S always criticise them.... You get what you pay for and M&S always delivers quality food for me, happy shopping at SPASDA Derek!

  • I would have expected a few special offers upon the opening of this new store, but no! Same high prices same indifferent quality, they'll have to try harder than this! So called budget stores like Aldi and Lidl have got better at supplying quality food, obviously M & S haven't noticed!

  • More than happy they have opened on the outskirts, now I can buy great food when I like rather than trying to get into the centre of the city

  • Do you really Derek, when was the last time you went in there? Not much difference in price to Sainsbury's.

  • Wish I had a car so I could get there, it is a difficult place to get by cycle, when I worked for m ands we got quite a good discount on food, they certainly sell lovely products, just wish I lived a bit closer

  • You will need a mortgage to buy anything in here, not exactly cost wise are they?
