Art lovers can enjoy the beauty of the Norfolk Broads while following a new open studios trail, and they can choose to travel by foot, car or boat.

The Rivers Thurne and Bure Art Trail runs between Thurne and Acle linking in Thurne, Oby, Upton and Acle.

There are six artists and artisans in the trail who between them are exhibiting a wide variety of work including delicate jewellery, hand thrown pottery, collages, paintings, and prints.

Ann Lamb, in Thurne, designs delicate silver, gold, and enamel jewellery inspired by her love of the countryside and nature observations while Michelle Daniels, in Oby, creates hand thrown pottery for the home in stoneware and individual raku pieces.

Colin Giles, in Upton, is currently working on a series of collages based on garden flowers and uses a variety of media to produce landscapes and abstract works. Corrin Tulk, also in Upton, is a painter inspired by the landscape.

Jan Dingle, in Thurne, prints coloured etchings with aqua tints reflecting her love of cruising in the Broads, and Danica Bloomfield, in Acle, likes to use a wide range of materials from lino and collagraph prints to watercolour and oils.

All six artists’ studios are just a short distance from the river and all of the studios can be reached in less than a day’s travel by boat.
