A new cabaret club full of a colourful array of weird and wonderful acts is set to open its doors in Norwich at the end of this month.

Called Bohemia Theatre of Varieties, the club will have a monthly night at 47 St Giles Street.

It is the idea of Skylar Fox, a freelance arts producers, performer and mentor who lives in the city, and the first night will be on Saturday, August 30.

'I wanted to bring something new to Norwich,' said Miss Fox.

'It's a mixed arts theatre club. There will be everything from showgirls to opera singers to circus to mind readers.

'It will be a really unique type of experience.'

She said the aim was to bring in big acts and also to showcase emerging local acts, and that people will able to enjoy a full theatrical night package complete with dinner or just come and watch the show.

Bohemia's host will be the comedy star Reuben Kaye and there will be more than 15 acts in the opening show.

These will include: Miss Anarchy and Her Traveling Freak Show (glass walking and dark martial arts), Lee Gibling (vocal percussionist and beat boxer), opera singer Emma Louise Nuule, Lola Loveboat with her six foot balloon and ballet act, Lee Christoph (psychological entertainer and mindreader), Skylar Fox (smokey jazz vocals), Mi Mi Amore (musical theatre) and

James Diamond (pyrotechnician).

Bohemia is a private members club and for a limited time membership is being offered for free via the Bohemia website.
