The owners of a garden centre next to the A47 in Necton have submitted a revised version of a twice-rejected planning application to build houses on the site.

The Necton Garden Centre in Tuns Road applied for planning permission to build 10 homes on the site in August 2011 and again in January 2012, but both were turned down by Breckland councillors.

The more recent application was refused in March because most of the development was outside the village’s settlement boundary, councillors did not have enough information about the impact of traffic on the A47, and they objected to a proposed earth bund between the houses and the main road.

The latest application scales back the proposed development to nine homes, seven with three bedrooms and two with at least four bedrooms.

Comments from neighbours are due to be received by August 29, while a decision should be made by October 2.
