The effect of Sport Relief Community Cash rang out loud and proud at the Forum.
Members of the Black Dog Music Project, which uses music to help people deal with mental health difficulties or disabilities, put on an open-air gig to showcase their talents.
The group last year received £1,000 of Community Cash funding, one of 55 groups to do so through the Norwich Evening News, and used the money to hire a professional music tutor and hire extra rehearsal space.
Applications for this year’s £50,000 Community Cash fund close on Tuesday.
Black Dog chairman Michael Mainwaring, a member for a year, said: “Music is a common language, and it can change your mood and your emotions. The group has changed my life completely.”
Community Cash grants of £500 to £1,000 are on offer for sports clubs, children’s groups, older people’s clubs, theatre companies or charities – so make sure you don’t miss out.
