Temperatures plunged in parts of Norfolk overnight and forecasters are predicting a fresh dusting of snow this evening - but milder weather is on its way.
Phil Garner, a forecaster at UEA-based WeatherQuest, said that overnight parts of the region, including Marham, dropped to minus eight degrees Celsius - but, while there is also likely to be more snow tonight, he said there would be milder temperatures in the coming days.
He said: “We are starting to see a slow transition through to something a bit milder.
“We are expecting outbreaks of rain, snow and sleet through the overnight period tonight, but the snow will be turning to rain towards the end of the night.”
He said there could be between 2cm and 6cm of snow.
“People will see a fresh covering of snow when they wake up on Saturday morning,” he said.
He said temperatures would be between two and four degrees Celsius on Saturday, and a band of rain predicted for Saturday night would bring milder air for Sunday.
