Norwich’s troop of gorillas are the stars of the summer - and people have been going ape over our special playing cards celebrating the celebrity primates.
One thousand decks of the cards - which feature all 54 artistic apes - have been on sale at our Norwich and district offices, and they have been snapped up by readers eager to have a souvenir of the charity art trail raising funds for children’s charity Break and the Born Free Foundation.
Many people flocked to buy the GoGoGorillas! cards for the full price of £7 last week, while others eagerly collected the six tokens printed in the paper to claim a deck for half-price.
With all the tokens now printed, there was a huge rush for the half-price cards this morning.
Our Norwich office saw big queues and had sold out by 10am - with 100 decks bought in just 45 minutes - and there were similar stories in our district offices across Norfolk.
But there’s no need to panic if you have not claimed your cards yet, as a further 1,000 packs of GoGoGorillas! cards are now being printed.
They will be available from Friday at our Norwich office in Rouen Road, and from Monday at the participating EDP and Evening News offices across the county.
