The man accused of two knifepoint robberies of Norwich shops last weekend has appeared in court after police charged him in connection with the two robberies overnight.
Louis Berks, of Waterloo Road, has been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of having a knife in a public place, following the two robberies on Saturday afternoon.
The 41-year-old is accused of robbing the Aldi supermarket in Plumstead Road of £375 and Steve McDonald News in Witard Road, Heartsease, of £500.
Berks was remanded in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and appeared briefly at Norwich Magistrates Court this morning.
His case has been adjourned and committed to Norwich Crown Court on Wednesday, September 18.
