Interviews to recruit a new chief executive of Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust will be held next month.
The mental health trust began advertising the CEO role last month following the resignation of Aidan Thomas, who was later announced as the new chief executive of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.
Gary Page, chairman of Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, told the board of governors yesterday that the organisation had hired recruitment firm Odgers Berndtson to advertise the position. The deadline for applying for the job is October 7.
He added that more than 100 people had viewed the job online, 19 people had requested more information, and two had so far applied, which included a broad spectrum of people from CEOs who worked for NHS trusts and executives of private companies.
A panel of staff, board members and patients will interview the candidates on November 18 and 19.
Andrew Hopkins, deputy chief executive and finance director, has been acting chief executive of Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust since the departure of Mr Thomas. Mr Hopkins was asked to leave the room whilst the recruitment process was being discussed yesterday.
