Two men have been arrested this evening following a suspected theft at a Norfolk post office.
Officers from Norfolk Police were called to the shop in Freethorpe at about 4pm following reports that a man had stolen a till from the post office.
The thief left the scene in a silver Renault Clio, which was abandoned at around 4.15pm close to the Brundall roundabout on the A47 near to the junction with Cucumber Lane.
A man was arrested by officers immediately.
A police spokesman said: “The police helicopter assisted officers on the ground and a second male was arrested at around 5.10pm in the Beverley Road area of Brundall.”
“Both males have been taken into custody for questioning. A quantity of cash and a till have subsequently been recovered. Officers are carrying out enquiries in the neighbouring areas.”
No one was hurt in the incident.
