A man whose body was found in the river at Hythe bridge in Downham Market on Monday, September 30 has been named as 68-year-old Graham Winner, who lived in Southfields in the town.
A post mortem examination was carried out and an inquest in Norwich heard today that the cause of death was drowning.
The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
As reported, a member of the public alerted the police to the body at around 8am.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service attended and the area was cordoned off while enquiries were carried out.
